I personally do not switch from XP to Vista. Judging from what I heard and read, there is not much reason to do so. It is not that computer journalist said that Vista is terrible, this is just that it did not fulfil all the hype. Vista has been in the development of about 5 years old, who long to wait for what some have nicknamed " XP Service Pack 4 ". This tech community a way to say: " It is evolutionary rather than revolutionary & quot;.
Vistas inability to create a revolution has caused rumours that Microsoft has lost its way. The general view is that the structure of the company was that the reason for this disappointing level progress.
Around 95% of all computers working one or another version of Microsoft Windows. This was a huge monopoly that made Bill Gates the richest man in the world. So even if the Microsoft monopoly begins to decline, it still will take at least several years if not decades or more for him to be overtaken. At that time, you should think about what they can come up with at least another killer version Windows.
If anything that Microsoft is going to stop in their tracks, he competition, which has improved significantly in the last couple of years. Linux is a very strong alternative to Windows. It is not only free to use, but he also supported free software.
On other end of the scale, Apple began Leopard - all in their power operating system so far. Apple has a beautiful outlook interface, second to none. OS X functions very well with almost any mistake, unlike Windows XP, from time to time suffered from the plague of small niggles. This can only be a personal gripe, but certainly should be more thorough way to remove unwanted software. Appeal to msconfig can be effective work around, but it is hardly convenient and not too easy to turn off something important mistake.
